Victorious Week: Climax of Happiness
After long months of tension brought in schools, we have to make a sudden stop for us to vulcanize our flat tires and to check our engines ready for our next journey. A time-out for ourselves to feel relieve and to take a deep breath. A week with no burden from school responsibilities- no assignments, no meetings with our terror teachers, no duties, no reports and exam-free yet no allowance. The much awaited time for all the students- SEMESTRAL BREAK.
We had reached the first half of this school year. For some students, sembreak is the time to relax, feel free, refresh, enjoy and to detach themselves to school priorities. But for me, it was a stressful and depressive week but a worthwhile and victorious one.
Recently, it was the first day of the semestral break when the SK and the Barangay Elections held. I participated and filed my certificate of candidacy running as SK Kagawad. I created a history in my life I first experienced the right to vote. It was already an achievement for me and I felt contented. I didn't expect any-win or lose, it's just ok. But with the good luck and my charisma maybe, I landed triumphantly. Mixed emotions embraced me upon hearing that good news.
The following days of my sembreak, I spent them most at school. I am attached with my responsibilities at school. Instead of relaxing as what my schoolmates were doing, I was sacrificing my time only to accomplish all those things.
I also joined The ISNHS group to compete for the very first Vigan City RANIAG Twilight Festival. That made me to be at school, during sembreak. we can't deny the insufficient of time we had. At first, we we're to confused if we were still push through with the contest considering the time frame and our opponents to beat. We only had two days to prepare for the streetdancing and showdown. Making us to feel nervous. But still that struggles were not a hindrance for us. We formulated a simple yet relative to theme showdown and streetdance.
When the contest proper came, we're not that nervous for we were not expecting to win, instead we were excited to showcase what ISNHSians got. We were happy with our performance. It was as great as the professional contingents of the competition.
We didn't win and we admitted it full heartedly. It didn't matter to us. We gave all our best and had a magnificent performance despite of those dilemmas we had encountered during our preparations that counts. And what matters most was the experience we had gained and memories we have created. The real victory that fulfills everybody's satisfaction.
This is how I spent My semestral break this year. Full of happiness and worthy to be cherished. It may not be the way it use to be, but it was a greater than it be!
